Yari defends Tinubu over insecurity, says Buhari as General also failed to end crisis
Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has defended President Bola Tinubu over Nigeria’s persistent insecurity, arguing that he should not bear the blame alone.
Yari made the remarks on Monday during a visit to Kebbi State, where he met Governor Nasir Idris, traditional rulers and party leaders, according to Daily Post.
He recalled that former President Muhammadu Buhari, despite being a retired army general, could not completely eliminate insecurity during his administration.
“If a retired general did his best but could not completely tackle insecurity, what do you expect of President Tinubu, who is not a general?
“Nevertheless, the President has done his utmost best to address the security challenges confronting the country,” he said.
Yari also commended Kebbi APC leaders for mobilising support ahead of the 2027 elections.
He expressed confidence that their efforts would secure victory for Tinubu and other APC candidates across the state.
