NHS staff report growing racist abuse as some patients refuse treatment
The Society of Radiographers says a survey of its members shows a marked rise in racist abuse from patients over the past 18 months, including staff being called derogatory names and refused treatment by non-white workers. NHS England called the abuse unacceptable, citing new staff standards requiring action against offenders. Separate NHS data shows discrimination complaints among staff hit a five-year high in 2025
