Preview: PSG face Aston Villa in UEFA Super Cup showdown

Paris Saint-Germain will face Aston Villa in Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup in Salzburg, with both sides targeting early-season silverware. According to Inside World Football, Champions League holders PSG enter as favourites after retaining their European crown, while Villa secured the Europa League with a 3-0 final win over Freiburg.

PSG could be affected by the late return of several World Cup stars, including Ousmane Dembélé, Fabián Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi. Villa have undergone significant changes, with Morgan Rogers joining Chelsea and Amadou Onana injured. Alejandro Garnacho is expected to help fill the attacking void. The match will also make history, with Somalia’s Omar Artan becoming the first non-European referee appointed to officiate the Super Cup.
