Katsina United player declared dead twice found alive in mortuary
Katsina United defender Ozor Chinedu has been found alive after reportedly being declared dead following his collapse during a pre-season match, Daily Trust reports. The 18-year-old, who recently joined from Kano Pillars, collapsed during Tuesday’s Gusau/Ahlan Pre-season Cup clash against Niger Tornadoes and was taken to hospital, where doctors reportedly pronounced him dead.
Katsina United subsequently issued a condolence statement, while former clubs mourned the player. However, mortuary staff at Katsina General Hospital later noticed movement and immediately transferred him to intensive care. Chinedu remains in critical condition and has been placed on oxygen as the football community awaits an official medical report.
