Kwankwaso cautions Tinubu against undermining Nigeria’s democracy ahead of 2027

Vice presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has urged President Bola Tinubu to protect Nigeria’s democracy by allowing opposition parties to operate freely, according to Tribune Online.

Speaking through Hon. Muktar Umar Zakari at a South West Stakeholders Conference in Ibadan, Kwankwaso called for the independence of INEC, the judiciary and security agencies, accusing Tinubu of frustrating opposition parties. He also urged Nigerians to reject vote-buying tactics like rice handouts ahead of elections, insisting the Obi/Kwankwaso ticket offers “healing” for the country’s economic and security challenges.
