19-year-old accused of stealing newborn after being pressured to have children

Police in Kebbi State have arrested 19-year-old Khadija Ibrahim for allegedly stealing a newborn baby in the Zuru area, according to a report by Peoples Gazette.

Police spokesman Bashir Usman said the suspect, under pressure to have a child, deceived her husband for nine months into believing she was pregnant before taking the baby from its biological mother, Fatima Muhammad, under the guise of helping her. The suspect was arrested Friday after investigations, and the baby has since been safely reunited with the mother.
