We don’t want to see you in Edo again -Governor Okpebholo’s aide warns Davido
Governor Monday Okpebholo’s Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media, Apostle Kassy Chukwu, has declared that Afrobeats star Davido is banned from performing in Edo State for the remainder of the governor’s tenure, escalating a feud that began during the Osun governorship election campaign.
As reported by The Sun, Chukwu made the declaration in a video shared on Peniel TV International, saying: “You have been banned from coming to Edo State to perform. We don’t want to see you in Edo again.”
The dispute began after Okpebholo criticised Governor Ademola Adeleke — Davido’s uncle — during the Osun campaign, prompting Davido to share what appeared to be the Edo governor’s WAEC result on Instagram. Davido subsequently refused to apologise, saying he had no reason to do so.
Chukwu also warned that angry Edo youths could give Davido a hostile reception at the airport if he returned to the state.
