‘She drinks, wets bed and beats me’ — Man tells Ibadan court
A Customary Court sitting in Mapo, Ibadan has heard explosive testimony from a man identified as Raheem, who alleged his wife Aishat regularly drank herself into stupor, wet the bed, locked him in their room and physically assaulted him — while his wife countered that she was merely his seventh wife being dragged through a divorce.
“My wife locks me in the room and beats me black and blue. She would kill me if an end is not brought to our relationship,” Raheem told the court, according to Tribune.
Aishat agreed to the divorce but denied all allegations, saying her husband gave her only N200 daily for food and restricted her from interacting with neighbours. Both parties are seeking separation.
