Arsenal target Arteta extension as Rice, Odegaard and Timber talks gather pace
According to EPL Index, Arsenal are stepping up efforts to secure the futures of manager Mikel Arteta and several important members of the squad. Arteta’s current contract expires at the end of the season, with talks reportedly progressing after discussions began earlier this year.
The club are hopeful of reaching an agreement around the September international break, while negotiations are also advancing with Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Jurrien Timber.
Arsenal’s hierarchy are keen to maintain continuity after building a competitive squad under Arteta since his appointment in 2019. The move reflects the club’s desire to keep its key figures together as they pursue Premier League and European success.
