9/11 victims’ families challenge ex-presidents over Saudi ‘cover-up’, caution Vance
Families of 9/11 victims confronted former presidents George Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden at the Ground Zero memorial in New York, accusing them of protecting Saudi Arabia rather than the victims’ families, according to Daily Mail.
Terry Strada, widow of victim Tom Strada, accused the kingdom of fomenting “anti-American terrorism” and said successive administrations had “chosen to protect the Saudis” over the families. She urged President Trump to press Riyadh to “stop lying” about its alleged role.
Vice President JD Vance and living former presidents, including Bill Clinton, were present. Families are pushing for declassified records tied to Omar al-Bayoumi, a Saudi national the FBI has linked to Saudi intelligence, as their lawsuit against the kingdom moves toward trial. Saudi Arabia denies involvement.
