’They’re like babies!’ – Wayne Rooney slams ‘selfish’ Fernandes and Martinez as Man Utd crisis deepens

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has launched a scathing attack on the club’s current squad, labeling senior players “babies” who refuse to take accountability for their deepening crisis, according to a report by GOAL.

Rooney’s outburst follows United’s humiliating 4-1 Champions League defeat against Como, which left manager Michael Carrick under severe pressure. Captain Bruno Fernandes escaped internal punishment after publicly criticizing the team’s tactical setup, contrasting with defender Lisandro Martinez, who was previously fined for questioning recruitment strategy.

Speaking on The United Stand podcast, Rooney branded the squad “selfish” and focused purely on self-preservation during a dismal run of form. The former captain urged the players to look in the mirror and stop deflecting blame onto management as the Red Devils struggle to restore dressing room harmony.
