Iran puts Trump in prison cage in provocative new art installation
Iran has unveiled an art installation featuring an impersonator of US President Donald Trump locked inside a prison cage in Tehran, protesting an American strike on an Iranian wedding.
According to Tribune, the installation at Tajrish Square shows the impersonator pacing, rattling prison bars and resting on a bed while electronic billboards display images condemning alleged American war crimes.
One message reads, “Failure to see this scene is a crime.”
The display references a September attack on a wedding gathering in southern Iran, which reportedly killed civilians and injured dozens.
Iranian authorities said the installation seeks to highlight demands for justice amid continuing tensions with Washington.
Since US-Israeli strikes on Iran began in February, Tehran has increasingly used billboards, satire and public displays to criticise Trump.
The American president has similarly shared social media content mocking Iran’s leadership, including artificial intelligence-generated imagery.
The installation has attracted spectators taking photographs and reacting to the performance.
