Oyetola, Oyebamiji, other APC leaders absent as Adeleke inaugurates Tinubu’s campaign council
Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, and Osun APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, were absent as Governor Ademola Adeleke inaugurated a 344-member campaign council for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
According to TheCable, Thursday’s event in Osogbo also recorded the absence of APC chairman Tajudeen Lawal, former Speaker Timothy Owoeye and lawmaker Oluwole Oke.
The Osun APC earlier accused Adeleke’s camp of failing to consult party leaders, describing the arrangement as divisive.
However, former Governor Adebisi Akande, APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru and former national secretary Iyiola Omisore attended.
Addressing participants, Basiru urged party stakeholders to support Adeleke despite political differences.
“There is no ambition or ego that is greater than ensuring President Bola Tinubu is re-elected. It is very imperative for us to support the President to succeed for a second term.”
Basiru maintained that Tinubu’s decision to appoint Adeleke as Osun campaign coordinator should be respected by party members.
