Unai Emery’s stance on leaving Aston Villa for Manchester United revealed
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery’s stance on replacing Michael Carrick at Manchester United has emerged as pressure mounts on the Red Devils’ boss following a 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth, as reported by TEAMtalk.
United sit 16th in the Premier League table with only seven points from eight matches. While sporting director Jason Wilcox admires Emery’s transformative work at Villa Park, reports indicate the Spaniard remains fully committed to his current project.
Discussing potential managerial candidates, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher stated:
“He is a manager I look at when I think about Manchester United. I think Emery is the best manager in the Premier League. But I’ve got this thing with him. Yes, his record in the Europa League is amazing, but surely somebody who is that successful wants to be known in the Champions League. He wants to win the Champions League. He’s not going to do that at Aston Villa.”
