Amorim issues cautionary warning to AC Milan fans despite thrilling derby victory over Inter

AC Milan manager Ruben Amorim offered a grounded response following his side’s 3–1 Derby della Madonnina victory against Inter Milan, according to a report by GOAL.

Returning star Diego Moreira proved decisive, scoring a early free-kick and adding two assists to establish a dominant lead. Christian Pulisic and Adrien Rabiot also scored for Milan, while Alessandro Bastoni headed in a consolation goal for Inter.

Speaking to DAZN after the match, Amorim highlighted the team’s resilience following a midweek 4–2 defeat to Bologna, but warned supporters that challenges remain.

“I was happy with a lot of things, we started really well, they are very strong in the air, but we changed the way we addressed the game, I think compared to other games, we are improving,” Amorim stated.

”It was not an amazing game, but it’s an amazing night for our fans and it was important for us to win this after Wednesday so we can move forward,” Amorim added, before delivering a blunt reality check.

“It’s an amazing night, we’ll also have bad moments.” Amorim credited returning starters Mario Gila, Moreira, and Rabiot, alongside midfielder Luka Modric, for controlling possession during the second half.

The victory elevates AC Milan to fourth place in Serie A with 21 points, four points behind joint-leaders Inter and Lazio. Next, Milan turn their focus to continental action, hosting Ferencvaros in the Europa League.
