Nigerian midfielder Liameed stretchered off after head kick in Spain

Nigerian midfielder Quadri Liameed was knocked unconscious after being kicked in the head during Sabadell’s Spanish second-division match against Albacete on Saturday, Punch reports.

The 24-year-old was hit in the 42nd minute by Albacete forward José Corpas, who was shown a straight red card. Liameed was taken to hospital, where tests came back positive, and was later discharged. Albacete won 2-1.

His father, Hajji Gafar, said: “My son is now in a stable condition.”
