‘Lawyer up’: Democrats warn Trump as they plot probes into ‘most corrupt family ever’

Democrats who recaptured both chambers of Congress in Tuesday’s midterms are preparing sweeping investigations into President Donald Trump and his family, with incoming Oversight chairman Robert Garcia warning him to “lawyer up.” Targets include crypto profits, the Epstein files, pardons, Middle East dealings and a Qatari jet. Armed with subpoena power, Democrats say criminal charges and impeachment of aides, or even Trump, are possible, while the White House has repeatedly denied wrongdoing.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee are preparing to investigate President Donald Trump and his family after recapturing both the House and Senate in Tuesday’s midterm elections, the Daily Mail reports.

Incoming committee chairman Robert Garcia issued a blunt warning to the President: “LAWYER UP.” Last week, Garcia vowed: “On DAY ONE we are going to take on the most corrupt family ever to occupy the White House.”

According to the report, committee Democrats have kept a tracker of what they claim are the Trump family’s gains from “digital grift schemes… collecting profits through digital wallets and granting pardons to the highest bidders.” The tally stood at nearly $4.5 billion on Wednesday.

House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, poised to become Speaker, promised to “hold the crooks accountable,” with criminal charges potentially on the table. The probes could lead to the impeachment of Trump’s staffers and possibly the President himself.

Areas of focus include the Trump family’s crypto profits, including a reported $500 million stake in World Liberty Financial bought by a member of Abu Dhabi’s royal family; the Epstein files; pardons; the business dealings of Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff; and Qatar’s $400 million Boeing 747-8 donation. Democrats also want to examine immigration enforcement, the Iran war and tariffs.

With control of Congress, Democrats can now subpoena documents and force testimony. The White House has repeatedly denied any allegations of wrongdoing, while Witkoff has denied any wrongdoing.
