Two former governors convicted for looting billions in public funds — Jolly Nyame of Taraba and Joshua Dariye of Plateau — have been appointed as members of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign council, alongside two women facing separate fraud allegations.

As reported by Peoples Gazette, Nyame was sentenced to 14 years in 2018 for diverting N1.64 billion in state funds, while Dariye received a 10-year sentence in 2021 for looting approximately N2 billion. Both received presidential pardons from the late President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022.

Also appointed were former NSITF board chairman Ngozi Olejeme — currently facing trial for N1 billion fraud — and former Humanitarian Affairs Minister Betta Edu, sacked by Tinubu in 2024 amid allegations of diverting N585 million into a private account.

All four will serve in the campaign council’s contact mobilisation division.
