Police nab four suspects in ex-boxing champion Zolani Tete’s murder case

South African police have arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of former two-time world boxing champion Zolani Tete, Sporting Tribune reports.

Tete, 38, was shot dead outside his home in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape, on Friday, while a 27-year-old woman with him was also wounded. A 22-year-old suspect arrested Saturday faces murder and attempted murder charges, while three others held Sunday face firearms-related charges. Tete held WBO bantamweight and IBF super-flyweight titles and set a Guinness World Record for fastest knockout. Tributes poured in from South Africa’s sports minister and former minister Fikile Mbalula.
