Mudryk makes first Chelsea appearance in 20 months in Juventus defeat
Mykhailo Mudryk made his first Chelsea appearance in 20 months, coming on as a substitute in a 1-0 defeat to Juventus in Hong Kong, according to BBC Sport. The Ukrainian entered in the 82nd minute, five days after his doping suspension ended following a settlement with the FA and WADA. Playing his favoured left-wing role, Mudryk nearly connected with a through-ball and delivered a late cross. Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso called it emotional for the club. Edon Zhegrova’s 68th-minute strike proved decisive as Chelsea suffered a second straight pre-season defeat despite dominating possession.
