Lionel Messi misses third straight penalty as Inter Miami suffer heavy defeat
Lionel Messi endured a difficult return to Inter Miami’s starting lineup as the Herons suffered a 4-1 defeat to Nashville SC in MLS on Saturday, according to a GOAL report. Messi missed a first-half penalty, marking his third consecutive failure from the spot. Telasco Segovia briefly levelled for Miami, but Hany Mukhtar scored twice while Sam Surridge added another as Nashville took control.
Messi also struck both posts during a frustrating outing. The match was his first start since the death of his father and longtime representative, Jorge Messi. Despite the heavy defeat, coach Guillermo Hoyos urged his players to remain focused on their objectives.
