Real Madrid leave Ferland Mendy out of Champions League squad
Real Madrid have omitted Ferland Mendy from their Champions League squad after the French defender suffered another setback in his recovery from injury. The 31-year-old has been sidelined since sustaining a tendon injury in his right thigh during Real Madrid’s La Liga meeting with Espanyol in May. He subsequently underwent surgery and has yet to return to group training at Valdebebas.
Get Spanish Football News reports that Mendy was not included among Real Madrid’s 25 List A players registered with UEFA, casting further doubt on when he will be available for competitive action. His omission comes as Madrid prepare for another Champions League campaign.
