Bournemouth capitalise on Trafford error to beat Leeds United
Bournemouth extended their impressive Premier League run with a 2-0 victory over Leeds United at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
A costly mistake from goalkeeper James Trafford gifted the hosts the breakthrough in the 31st minute. The England international surrendered possession following a short goal-kick, allowing Justin Kluivert to set up Evanilson for his fifth goal in six matches.
According to The Irish News, substitute Amine Adli sealed Bournemouth’s third consecutive league victory with a stoppage-time goal. Leeds had started brightly, but their afternoon worsened when Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s 11th-minute effort was disallowed for handball following a VAR review.
The defeat extended Leeds’ winless Premier League run to five matches, while Bournemouth moved a point above Daniel Farke’s side in the table.
