Tinubu endorses $3.1bn AfCFTA customs modernisation project
President Bola Tinubu has expressed support for the companies behind a $3.1 billion customs modernisation project under the African Continental Free Trade Area, describing it as transformative for the continent’s economic progress.
According to The Guardian Nigeria, the endorsement came during a courtesy visit by Alhaji Saleh Ahmadu, whose company, Bergmans Security Consultants and Supplies Limited, signed a 20-year concession agreement with the AfCFTA Secretariat. The project, implemented with AfriTrade CMP Limited, covers all 55 AfCFTA member states and aims to modernise customs and strengthen trade facilitation.
