Why Oyo student sat on APC governorship candidate’s lap — Campaign team

The campaign organisation of Oyo State APC governorship candidate Senator Sharafadeen Alli, according to a Punch report, explained why a Polytechnic Ibadan student was seen sitting on his lap in a viral video.

The campaign said students from the institution’s Department of Banking and Finance visited Alli’s Mokola office for an interview, but insufficient seating led him to ask one student to sit on his lap.

It described the gesture as “spontaneous and fatherly,” condemning attempts to sexualise the interaction as misleading and politically motivated ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
